It will be better, but if you pursue integrated course then you will get M.Tech degree also, but you will lose a chance to do M.Tech from IITs, which you will get through GATE after B.Tech. Otherwise, VIT is also a good college to do this course. It is ranked under top 10 by MHRD.*

VIT University is now one of the top universities in India. It is far ahead of SMU in terms of ranking.

Placement wise, you should prefer CSE in VIT Vellore but if you want to go for further studies, you should choose ICT. Placement is good there and also, it's the best place for chemical engineering (ranked 1 in chemical engineering branch).

For IT branch in VIT, Vellore you need a rank below 10000 to get a seat in category 1.

No, they don't offer lateral entry programme.

Category is divided on the basis of your rank, if you get lower category then you need to pay less, this is basically done because if a student doesn't perform well in the exam.

Vit vellore is best it will comes in top 10 engineering college in India with good placement and highly experienced professionals faculty.
