IIM Visakhapatnam admission is based on CAT examination percentile obtained by candidates and their performance in Personal Interview. IIM Vishakhapatnam eligibility criteria for PGP/ MBA programme is a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for candidates who belong to SC/ ST/ PwD category) or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India (including the Associate Membership Examination (AMICE) of the Institution of Civil Engineers (India) as an equivalent qualification). 

As you meet the minimum qualifying criteria, you are eligible to apply for admission to the PGP/ MBA programme at IIM Visakhapatnam. 

Candidates who wish to take admission to the EMBA programme offered at IIM Visakhapatnam have to meet minimum eligibility requirement. In order to take admission to the EMBA programme, candidates must be an Indian national residing in India only and must have passed a minimum of three year Bachelor's degree examination with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for NC-OBC/ EWS category candidates and 40% for SC/ ST/ PwD) category candidates) and must have a minimum of three years of full-time work experience as of the closing date of the respective application window at an officer/ executive level or higher, as a professional, or as an entrepreneur.

Students at IIM Visakhapatnam can avail various scholarships and financial assistance. To avail IIM Visakhapatnam financial aid, candidates must meet the minimum eligibility requirement. Students who want to apply for financial assistance must follow a certain procedure:

STEP 1: The Financial Aid Committee undertakes a two-step process for deciding the number of awardees and the quantum of aid. First, students are required to submit an application form with the following details:

• Educational Qualifications
• Work experience (if any)
• Annual Gross Household Income (including income of the student if employed before joining IIMV and outstanding loans, if any)
• Household Savings
• Real Estate Assets
• Other Assets

STEP 2: All eligible students who have submitted their applications are encouraged to appear for a Personal Interview conducted by a panel of faculty members.

STEP 3: The faculty panel evaluates the financial requirements of students based on the data provided in the application form, and upon their assessments, assigns a Financial-Need Score to each student. By using the weighted average methodology established by the committee, finally, shortlisted applicants are granted financial assistance.

• IT Returns document for the immediately preceding financial year
• Income Certificate for the immediately preceding financial year
• Household Savings documents
• Property documents
• Loan Documents (if any)
• EMI payment receipts (if any)

IIM Visakhapatnam offers scholarships to candidates who belong to the economically weaker section of the society with an objective to help candidates to pursue their higher education. Students at IIM Visakhapatnam are also encouraged to apply for scholarships which are offered by various ministries under the government of India, state governments and other agencies. 

All PGP students with annual household income below INR 5 Lacs are eligible to apply for financial aid. Other students with severe financial difficulties arising from sudden unforeseen circumstances are also considered. IIM Vishakhapatnam scholarships are also merit-based.
