It really doesn't matter at all. With experiences of interviews at various PSUs, and IITs, I have came across a lot of people, who tried hard, time and again, to finally seize what they wanted out of GATE. The matter of the fact is, You must justify your stand of taking a 1-year gap. Yes, non-autonomous colleges can also provide B.Tech degree programs. Autonomous colleges have the freedom to design their own curriculum and evaluation system, whereas non-autonomous colleges follow the curriculum and evaluation system prescribed by their affiliated university. In the case of non-autonomous colleges, the B.Tech degree is awarded by the affiliated university, and the college follows the curriculum and evaluation system prescribed by the university. The degree Certificate will mention the name of the affiliated university.
