The entire MDS course from the Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital will cost about INR 17,55,000 for the entire three years course. These charges are common for several specializations, including Periodontics, Oral Surgery, and Orthodontics. Graduates of MDS are likely to earn about INR 9,00,000 per year. The highest domestic package also offered is about INR 9,00,000. These figures depict a good probability of professional development in the oral care sector after graduation from the course.

MDS placements in Thai Moogambigai Dental College and Hospital are averagely placed. As the details regarding the MDS graduate placement data is not reported much, but the practical training and development of the skill are being focused at this college. The median salary would be INR 11.74 LPA, but direct placement supports to the recruiters and even placement rates to the students pursuing MDS are not reported that can be used as evidence of limited support. Students are also advised to take up internships and networking opportunities for enhancing their job prospects in the dental field.

With a NEET score of 393, admission to BDS or MBBS programs may be challenging, especially in government colleges.

BDS Admission

  • Government Colleges: Typically require at least 450 marks.
  • Private Colleges: A score in the 50th percentile (unreserved category) may be sufficient.

MBBS Admission

  • A score of 393 is on the lower side, but some private medical colleges or institutions with higher fee structures might accept candidates with this score.

It is advisable to participate in NEET counseling and explore options in private colleges or deemed universities. Additionally, you can consider management quota seats if financially feasible.

The last five NEET UG cutoff for admission to Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme at Nair Hospital Dental College, Mumbai was used to decide the cutoff. For 2024 admissions, the expected cutoff scores are:

General category: 580-600 marks.

OBC category: 550-570 marks.

SC category: 480-500 marks.

ST category: 450-470 marks.

Since these cutoffs vary from year to year, they depend on factors such as the number of candidates and the number of seats available for each course, the level of difficulty of NEET. The college has limited BDS seats and therefore students scramble for these rare opportunities. It therefore goes without saying that
