In order to get admission to BDes at Somaiya School of Design, students must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria before applying for the course. Admission to this course is entrance-based. Those who are willing to get admission to this course must qualify for either UCEED/ NID DAT/ NIFT/ PERA-CET/ NATA/ JEE Main Paper-2 entrance exam. The final selection is based on the score of entrance and performance of candidates in Essay Writing, Team Activity and PI round, conducted by the institute.

Nevertheless, admission in the programme is competitive, the candidate must pass the Class 12 examination from a recognised board. The M.Des in Fashion Design offered by NIFD Global Lindsay Street is a 2 years post graduation course with fee structure of around INR 3,35,000. It is a four semester programme having fee structure INR 83,750 per semester. The programme completes the programme curriculum with the study of fashion forecasting, textile science, and fashion merchandising. The programme also comprises an internship of 6 months in its school, employment in acting fashion and style companies. The programme fees consist of the cost of tuition, cost of examinations and other incidental charges.

The most popular entrance exam for Fashion Design admission in India is NIFT Entrance Exam. Through this exam, candidates can secure admission in all the NIFTs in India and other private Fashion Design colleges accepting the exam scores. NIFT is followed by Pearl Academy Entrance Exam.
