If you are going for better, you should look out for economics at IIT-khadagpur.
But it is all based on your interests. These are all not mainstream branches as per now, but all are equivalently good as you will be graduating from IITs. So for me economic IIT-khadagpur > petroleum IIT dhanbad > Maths IIT-R.

Software engineering Mtech is the most renowned among the Mtech branches and therefore 1 of the best options.
It is available on the JOSAA matrix as
Information Technology and M.Tech (Information Technology) Spl. Software Engineering (5 Years, Bachelor and Master of Technology (Dual Degree))

taking a break doesn't make a big impact for pursuing an MBA until you can justify what you did in the one year. this question will be asked when you go for the interview for any MBA admission . and it's preferable to go for a private institute for BBA and MBA courses.

I will recommend that you go for B.Tech instead of dual degree. You are advised to do MBA from a prestigious B School for a good career.

Manash, LPU is one of the best universities in India. They have highly qualified faculty from IITs, NITs, etc. I have myself visited the campus for admission and met many of the faculty members. I was impressed by the system. The way students were being prepared for the upcoming placement drive was appreciable.Infrastructure of the university is breathtaking. Another thing that I liked is the scholarship scheme with which they have made quality education affordable for all.So, I think you so go for LPU.
