However, B.Tech Biotechnology basically deals with basic engineering concepts which are applied in chemical engineering and applied Biology. B.Tech Biotechnology Syllabus also deals with methods for environmental conservation, medicines, health along with technology. So changing the stream in B.Tech course is not recommendable.
