Hello Sunil, I can understand your anxiety and angst for the admission of your son after he has completed his Diploma in mechanical engineering. Unfortunately for lateral entry directly into second year of four year degree courses every state has laid down eligibility rules indicating which branches of Diploma will be eligible for which branches of engineering degree. However there is one more option which is open to you and which will not involve losing too many years for your son. You can treat Diploma as equivalent to 12th and then clear the corresponding entrance examination for admission to the first year of Bachelor of engineering in Computer sciences. By this method you are son may lose at the most one year but he will get admission into the branch of his choice. Best wishes to you.

Hello Delhi Vento, Central seat allocation board, allocates the seats based on the choices given by the students and as per the second formula of the admissions perfected over many years. It can also happen that the choice which you have given also was given by those placed in the merit list above you and hence you were not allotted the seat. Admissions process is famous for throwing many surprises. This is so since it all depends on the choice of students and how it relates with each others choices.
