Q:   Does COEP accept JEE Mains marks?
A: 

Yes, the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) accepts the scorecard of JEE-Main. But the majority of seats are sanctioned for Maharashtra domicile students and are filled through MHT-CET. An additional 25% seats are provided for All India Candidates who are admitted through the JEE-Main score. Apart from UG courses like BTech the College of Engineering Pune also provides a wide range of PG and doctoral courses which have their own specified entrance exams through which students can enroll in the desired course.

Q:   Which exam is required for admission to BTech at COEP, Pune?
A: 

COEP, Pune BTech requires candidates to appear for MHT-CET if they are from Maharashtra. Candidates from outside Maharashtra can appear for JEE Mains to qualify for BTech admissions.

Eligibility criteria for both candidates will be same during COEP, Pune BTech course.

Q:   Does COEP, Pune take direct admission for BTech courses?
A: 

No, all BTech courses at COEP, Pune accept admissions on entrance basis for first year admissions. However, candidates applying for lateral entry will be selected based on last qualifying exam score, if they fulfill BTech eligibility criteria. MHT-CET or JEE Mains are used to decide BTech admissions for Mharashtra and non Maharashtra candidates respectively.

Q:   Is COEP Pune as good as IIT?
A: 

COEP Pune and a lot of IITs are ranked by the NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework). The infrastructure of COEP Pune and IIT is the best. COEP Pune and Indian Institutes of Technology faculty are good. Hence both the colleges are good. Both colleges offer the best courses to students. Which one is the best college depends on what the person is actually looking for in a college or university. To get admission to various courses offered at COEP Pune, candidates must have valid score in accepted entrance exams such as MATXAT, CATCMATATMA, and others.

Q:   Are COEP, Pune BTech admissions open?
A: 

No, COEP, Pune BTech admissions are yet to be opened in academic year 2026. Generally, CAP rounds for BTech courses begin in September with registrations starting from August. Thus, candidates should go to COEP, Pune's website or MHT-CET portal to keep track of BTech application status.

Q:   Can I apply for COEP, Pune BTech admissions while awaiting Class 12 board exam results?
A: 

There is no mention of any rules regarding admissions of candidates into BTech at COEP, Pune before they receive their Class 12 board exam result. Generally, this institute admits candidates long after those results should have been revealed. Thus, candidates will need to raise this query to admission desk for confirmation.

Yes, MAH-CET results for academic year 2026 have been released on May. Candidates who appeared for this entrance exam can get their scorecards from MAH-CET's portal. However, CAP round registrations at COEP, Pune are yet to be opened.

No, MBA admissions are yet to be opened at COEP, Pune for academic year 2026. Generally, COEP, Pune begins CAP rounds for MBA admissions in August every year. CAP rounds are conducted in early September to select candidates for MBA course.

A: 

For BTech courses, COEP is more affordable because it is a government university and the fees is not as high as JSPM University. The fees of both universities are tabulated below:

The given fee is as per the official sanctioning body. It is still subject to revision and hence, is indicative.

Q:   When were MAH CET 2024 dates announced?
A: 

MAH MBA CET 2024 dates were announced by the Maharashtra State CET Cell in December 2023. The announcement was made by the examination body at it's Twitter (X) handle. As per the official notification, the MAH MBA CET 2024 will be held on March 9, 10 and 11, 2024. Earlier, in October 2023, the agency had announced exam dates as March 23 and 24, 2024. 

Online registrations were conducted from January 11 to February 12, 2024. The aspirants had to fill an online application form to be eligible to appear in the exam. The admit card and result date of MAH MBA CET 2024 will be announced by the examination body in the last week of February or First week of March 2024.
