Hello Sagar, There are literally hundreds of colleges in each state of India. However in majority of states, the admissions are given on the basis of domicile and an entrance test conducted by the concerned state government. For the colleges like NIT or IIT or their equivalent run by the central government, admissions are based on JEE Mains for JEE Advanced. So for getting admission in an engineering College you need to appear for or both these exams. In addition different deemed to be universities in the private sector conduct their own entrance exams. Hello Yashika, The preparation for becoming a marine engineer becomes important before you pass your 12th. This is so because the subjects which you study for 12th are the same ones for which you have to appear and entrance exam. This year there is going to be no entrance exam and the admissions will be based on the marks obtained by students in 12th take care of the different evaluation standards of different boards there will be what is called as normalisation process.
