The Production Engineering entrance exams for admission take place at the national/state/university levels and are generally quite competitive and difficult to crack because the competition is quite high at top colleges with limited seats. The cutoffs are really high at the IITs, NITs, and other prominent colleges, so you need to work very hard and get excellent marks and rank to grab a seat.

The time required to prepare for the Production Engineering entrance exams cannot be said with any certainty. It differs on the basis of the specific exam that you're planning to appear for. You require at least 6 to 8 months in general to cover all the exam syllabus topics, have a look at the previous years' question papers, take mock tests, and revise the high-weightage topics to get excellent marks in the entrance test.
