I totally get your situation! If you're expecting around 40-50 out of 70 in Physics and aiming for 75%+, giving an improvement exam is a smart choice. Yes, it's usually possible to reappear for Physics only, but you should check with your exam board's specific rules on improvement exams.

Eligibility to Improvement Examination for RBSE

Yes, you can sit for the improvement exam for one subject in August 2025. According to RBSE guidelines, students who have previously sat for improvement exams can reappear for such exams for any subject to time conditions.

You cleared Class 12 in 2023 and took the first Improvement examination in March 2024 without better marks; hence, you are eligible for that particular subject's improvement examination in August 2025.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) enables students to sit for improvement exams in 2025 subject to association rules. You obtained your 12th standard exam passing mark in 2023 which allows you to enter the improvement exam process in 2025 with private candidacy. Each subject has a maximum number of five for improvement and requires an examination fee of INR 1,500 per subject which becomes INR 4,500 with an extra INR 3,000 late fee added. You must send your application form within the established deadline that falls during February or March of the year.

Hi Bhawani Singh,

If you appear for a CBSE improvement exam and score lower than your original marks, the original marks will remain valid. The improvement exam is an opportunity to enhance your scores; if the new marks are higher, they will replace the old ones. However, if the new marks are lower, your original marks are retained. Therefore, CBSE will not issue a new marksheet if your improvement exam scores are less than your original marks.

Wishing you the best in your academic endeavors!

A weak performance in the BSEB improvement exam leads to lower total percentages rather than improvement since exam scores will replace previous scores in specific subjects. Your examination results from the improvement test will substitute all your past examination scores from the individual subject. A score of 40 marks in the improvement exam leads to lowering your new total score by 20 marks from your previous performance of scoring 60 marks. The passing threshold for subjects raises from 0–32 marks to 33 or above. To earn better marks in addition to having an improved total percentage you must dedicate sufficient effort to studyi

Accordin to CBSE guidelines you can participate in improvement examinations for July 2025 after successfully finishing your 2024 12th grade exams. Within five years after exam completion date the Central Board of Secondary Education enables students to conduct improvement exams. The 2024 exam passing date makes you eligible to take improvement examinations during the 2025 session. Different categories of subjects have payment requirements between INR 200 and INR 1000 for the improvement exams. Students can take improvement examinations in multiple subjects through one or more such tests to raise their evaluation scores.

If you passed the improvement exams for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English and meet the required aggregate marks (50% for general, 40% for reserved categories), you should be eligible to appear for the NEET UG exam. Admission to MBBS courses in India is based on NEET scores, so as long as you qualify in NEET and meet the subject requirements, you are eligible for MBBS admission. Check the specific eligibility criteria of the colleges you're applying to, as some may have additional requirements.

Yes, you can appear for an improvement exam next year if you're dissatisfied with your marks in the current improvement exam. Most boards, including CBSE, allow students to reappear for the improvement exam in subsequent years if they wish to improve their marks further.

However, you must check with your specific board or institution about the rules and timelines regarding multiple improvement attempts, as some may have specific guidelines on the number of times you can appear. Generally, improvement exams are allowed only for Class 12th subjects, and students can appear for the same subject in future years if they are not satisfied wit

Yes, NITs will accept your improved score only if you have only 73% in your 12th borad. You are adviced to appear for improvement exams only if you are from general category as the minimum requirement to appear for JEE is 75% for general. But if you are from other category such as SC/ST, you need not to appear for improvement exam as you're already eligible for JEE. So the answer of your question is yes, the NITs will consider your improved score only and you're adviced to appear for improvement exam only if you're from general category.

Yes, you can enhance your marks by coming through NIOS after passing class 12th. NIOS has given a chance to the student to reappear in a particular subject, provided through their "Stream 2" option wherein if you have already completed 12th, then improve marks or rectify whatever wrong result you may have gotten. You'll follow their guidelines for registration as well as application of your examination. You can get these done online and marks gained from NIOS help in increasing the grade or in getting eligible marks for higher studies or to get some good job prospects.
