Hi.
No — JEE Main is not mandatory for taking admission in CU. Most official sources state that admission is based on CUCET (or class 12 marks in some cases), not on JEE.
CU may accept scores from national‑level exams (including JEE Main) or strong class 12 results in some cases — but primarily in the context of scholarships or sometimes as an alternate admission pathway.
For example, candidates with very high 10+2 marks (reportedly > 90%) may get exemption from CUCET — in which case admission may proceed via merit rather than entrance test.

Hi.
CU doesn't rely only on JEE Main scores for admissions. Their primary admission pathway is through their own entrance test — CUCET (Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test).
If your JEE rank is not strong, you can appear for CUCET — many students do that as alternate route.
As per recent info, students with a valid JEE Main rank up to 50,000 may get exemption from giving CUCET. But this means if your JEE score is lower (i.e. outside that top‑50,000 band), you must give CUCET.

Hi.
JEE Main Score Route
If you have a JEE Main 2026 score, you can apply directly using that.
Your All India Rank (AIR) is used for:
Branch allocation (high-demand branches like CSE, AI/ML, IT, etc.)
Merit-based scholarships
No CU-specific entrance exam is required in this case.
CUCET / Direct Admission Route
If you don't appear in JEE, CU conducts its own Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) or considers 12th marks for merit-based admission.
This route is optional for JEE-qualified students.
Advantages of using JEE Main at CU
Branch preference: Higher JEE rank increases your chances of getting top branches.
Scholarships: Merit-base

Hi.
Top 25,000–50,000 AIR: Likely to get good branches (CSE, IT, AI/ML) with 75–100% fee scholarship eligibility.
50,001–75,000 AIR: You may still get popular branches but partial scholarship; some flexibility required.
75,001–125,000 AIR: Admission possible, but mostly in less competitive branches; scholarship smaller (~10–20%).
Other factors still matter
12th-class marks: Minimum ~50–60% in PCM is required.
CUCET / internal merit: If your JEE rank is moderate, performing well in CU's own entrance test or merit evaluation can help.
Seat availability: Some branches are highly competitive — even a decent rank might not guarantee

Hi.
CU accepts JEE Main scores for engineering admissions.
A good JEE percentile can:
Help secure high-demand branches like CSE, IT, AI/ML, Cyber Security, and Data Science.
Qualify you for merit-based scholarships, which are tied to your All India Rank (AIR) in JEE Main, not just percentile.
Provide an advantage in counseling and seat allocation, especially if many students compete for limited seats.
Other factors CU considers
12th-class marks (PCM + required subject)
Minimum eligibility: usually 50–60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and another subject depending on the branch.
Even if your JEE percentile is low, strong

Hi.
Yes — Chandigarh University (CU) does offer scholarships based on performance in JEE Main (or more precisely, on JEE Main All‑India Rank, AIR), for B.Tech/B.E courses.
What CU's JEE‑based scholarship scheme says
Under the “JEE‑Mains Performance Based Scholarship, ” a portion of students (up to 5% of total intake seats per course) are eligible for a fee waiver if they submit a valid JEE Main rank.

Hi.
The amount of scholarship you might get at Chandigarh University (CU) based on a JEE 2026 result depends on your All‑India Rank (AIR) rather than JEE percentile.

Hi.
Branch preference: A higher JEE score improves your chances of getting high-demand branches like CSE, AI/ML, Cyber Security.
Scholarships: Merit-based scholarships often depend on your JEE percentile or 12th marks, so a good score can reduce fees.
Early seat allocation: High JEE scores give priority during counselling — you can secure the branch you actually want.

Hi.
Yes, CSE at Chandigarh University (CU) is highly in demand, so getting it without a strong JEE rank (or strong academic profile) can be challenging, but it's not impossible. Let me break it down clearly:
Why CSE at CU is competitive
High-demand branch: CSE, AI/ML, Data Science, Cyber Security, etc., are the most popular programs at CU. Thousands of applicants compete every year.
Limited seats: Even though CU is a large private university, the number of seats in specialised CSE programs is limited, especially for high-profile collaborations (IBM, Microsoft, TCS).
Merit-based allocation: CU often prioritizes either CUCET scores, 12

Hi.
Yes, if you are qualified under Chandigarh University (CU), and you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for specialised CSE‑branches like Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI & ML), Data Science, or Cyber Security — even as a “JEE‑qualified” (or JEE‑appeared) student. But a few caveats apply.
What CU offers — these specialisations exist
CU lists B.E. / B.Tech (Hons) programmes in CSE with specialisations in AI & ML, Data Science, Cyber Security (among others) under its “specialized‑programs / IBM‑collaborated courses.”
On their website, CU's eligibility criteria for these specialisations r
