Normally, the duration of the GATE exam is 3 hours. However, the duration for students availing the scribe facility (PwD or dyslexic) will get an hour compensatory time to complete the exam, which is four hours. Candidates have to opt for compensatory time at the time of filling out the application form. After the exam duration is over, the test will terminate automatically.

First things first, separate your college work from GATE preparation. Try completing your college work during your class hours, so that you can utilise it for GATE preparation at home. Attend your class lectures honestly (to score a good CGPA equally important, especially for GATE PSUs) and grasp the concepts right at that time, so that you can implement them while solving GATE questions. The WBJEE JECA test centres will be made available online. Cities where the entrance test will be held can be viewed through the WBJEE JECA test centres. The WBJEE JECA will be held in different centres located across different districts of West Bengal. While making the application, the applicants need to choose their desired test zones for the entrance test.

While filling out the WBJEE JECA application form, you will be given the choice to pick the preferred exam centres. The choice of exam cities must be filled in order of preference. As the preferences will be taken into account for centre allotment, the candidates are requested to ensure that they check their order of preferences thoroughly. WBJEE JECA exam centres will be assigned based on the preferences of the candidate and availability of seats at the given centre.

Amity University Kolkata offers admission based on merit and entrance. Admission to courses such as MBA would require a valid CAT score. Apart from CAT, candidates can appear for other accepted entrance exams as well such as XAT/ MAT/ NMAT/ CMAT and others. Candidates must meet the cutoff by securing the rank or score marked by the University during admissions.

Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani BE admission is based on valid BITSAT scores. Selection is based entirely on the candidate's past academic record, specialisation preference, availability of seats and score in BITSAT. Candidates, who have passed Class 12 in 2022 are only eligible to appear in 2023 and are eligible to apply for the BITS Pilani BE course. Apart from the BITSAT scores, students are also required to fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements.

IIT Guwahati will be conducting the GATE 2026 exam on February 7, 8, 14, and 15. Utilise these 4 to 5 months in the best way. Here is a quick yet effective GATE preparation plan that can help you score well in the exam.
- Starting from November to December, start covering at least two subjects per day. Pick your notes and formula handbook and run through it. Pick videos for a detailed explanation. After covering that, try explaining the concept to yourself for understanding.

No, doing this can be one of the harmful decisions that you are going to make in your GATE preparation. Instead, give attention to all the topics and chapters equally. You can start with the high-weightage topics and chapters in GATE first, but also try to give at least an hour per day to go through the lower weightage topics. Look for what sort of questions are asked in previous years, whether they are theoretical or numerically-based. Prepare according to that. By doing this, you are exercising a balanced GATE preparation.
