Unfortunately, the answer to this question is "YES". CAT preparation won't be sufficient enough for GMAT and the same holds true if you are preparing for GMAT. This is because the intention to check on the areas are very different in both the exams. CAT tests your ability mainly on your 1- Quantitative abilities 2- Data Interpretation/ Logical Reasoning and 3- Verbal Ability. GMAT on the other side tests your, quant, Verbal, AWA, IR. You may think Quant and Verbal overlap in both but this isn't enough as the difficulty is not the same in both. Quant in CAT is at a higher level than GMAT. Hi, It depends on individuals ability and previous knowledge to prepare for any entrance test. The best way is to take a mock test and find your strengths and gaps. Then you may start working with a plan and coaching. There are many options available these days like online tutoring, offline classes or mix of both. You may take 3 to 6 months and do take lot of mock tests before your final exam.

Hello Hardik,
First of all, don't feel worried. According to the bill, all the IIMS have been empowered to provide a degree instead of a Diploma. Earlier, only universities were allowed to provide MBA degrees while all the private institutes used to give a Diploma. Though the course outline is almost the same in both degree and Diploma, but the value of MBA is more, especially in countries outside India. However, the good thing is that many organizations as well as competitive exams consider Post graduate Diploma to be equivalent to MBA. Please evaluate the pros and cons and check your list of expectations and requirements for making a

Hi Kriti,
Last year the GMAT cut off for IMI, New Delhi was 650 for PGDM core and 600 for BFS and HR. This year it can slightly vary based on the number and quality of applications received.

Given the experience you have in banks, you can try the same in the Finance department in MBA. If you are interested in interaction with people and you are good at communicating with others, you can opt for Marketing.

You must prepare one year before the intake. During March - July you should finish taking your tests, so that you can submit your application by the end of 2019.
