Hi.

The regulatory authority National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) changed the B.Ed course from 1-year to 2‑year (four semesters) for all new admissions since around 2014‑15.

For distance or correspondence B.Ed (or ODL — open/distance learning) mode, NCTE sets that the duration must be 24 months (2 years).

Therefore, any “1‑year B.Ed” — through regular or distance mode — is not valid under current NCTE norms (unless it's some outdated or special exception, which is unlikely).

B.E./B.Tech, of late, is in very high demand at GCT. Its excellence as an academic hub, association with Anna University, and impressive placement records are a few factors attributed to this demand. With its alumnae including top companies like TCS, Infosys, and Wipro, students get tremendous opportunities. Also, GCT has all the modern infrastructure set-up, with advanced labs and libraries that add to student learning experiences. Subsequent impressive performances of the college in terms of providing industry-ready engineers have made it the favorite destination of many budding minds.
