Before joining as AAO in the LIC, candidates need to give a Guarantee Bond, an undertaking to serve the Corporation for a minimum 4 years period from the date of joining (including the probation). If a candidate fails to serve the LIC for four years, he/she or his /her heirs, executors, administrators will have to pay the damages of INR 5 Lakhs plus GST or the sum prescribed by the Executive Director (Personnel).

After appointed as the Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) in the LIC, a candidate will be on probation for a period of one year from the date of joining. The LIC AAO probation period may be extended upto two years. During the probation period of the LIC AAO, candidates’ performance will be under the continuous assessment. If a candidate fails to achieve the minimum standard of his/her services, his or her services will be terminated as per the policy of Corporation.

The basic pay for the LIC AAO post is INR 53600 per month. The LIC AAO pay scale is INR 53600- 2645 (14) –90630– 2865 (4) –102090 and other admissible allowances. The total LIC AAO salary inclusive of House Rent Allowance (HRA), City Compensatory Allowance (CCA), etc. wherever admissible will be approximately INR 92870 per month in ‘A’ Class city. The candidates who clear Stage-III are required to undergo a special medical examination at Base Hospital, New Delhi. Candidates declared unfit in Special Medical Board (SMB) will be included in the merit list as they have the option to appeal the verdict and will report for appeal medicals at designated service hospital within 42 days of completion of SMB. If declared unfit during appeal medicals, such candidates have the option to request the Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS) through Directorate of Recruitment, Coast Guard Headquarters for review of the results. The candidates qualifying for Stage-III will be intimated on completion of stage-II at respective centres. The schedule of Stage-III will be intimated to the candidate on personal Login IDs. The FSB call up letter along with reporting instructions will be intimated to candidates on personal Login IDs. The medical standard prescribed for Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant exam is given below:
Height: Candidates should be 157 cms. Reduction in minimum height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. regulations.
Weight: Proportionate to the height and age. ( + 10% acceptable)

The educational qualification prescribed for Indian Coast Assistant exam is given below:
- Should hold a degree of recognised university with minimum 60% aggregate marks for General/OBC/EWS candidates and 55% aggregate for SC/ST candidates.
- Mathematics and Physics as subject up to Intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in Diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.

To apply for Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant exam, the age of candidates should be between 21 and 25 years. Relaxation in the age limit will be given to candidates belonging to reserved categories. 5 years relaxation will be given to SC/ST and 3 years to OBC. 5 years age relaxation will be given to personnel serving in Coast Guard or equivalent personnel in Army or Navy or Air Force.
