RRB ALP 2025-26 application form was released on April 12, 2025. The last date to fill the application form has been extended till May 19, 2025. The application form and fee can be submitted online only. The application fee for the exam is INR 250 for SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Female, Transgender, Minorities or Economically Backward Class (EBC) categories. Candidates belonging to other categories are required to pay INR 500.
RRB ALP CBT 2 answer key 2025 has been released. Usually the answer key is released within four to five days after the exam is conducted. Candidates can download the answer key by logging with the required credentials. Candidates view the answer key within the prescribed deadline. The objections against the answer key can be raised online. The objection fee is INR 50 which can be paid online.
RRB ALP CBT 1 2025 was announced on February 26, 2025 by RRBs. The result was announced on the region-wise official websites of RRBs. The result is made available in PDF form and comprises the roll numbers of qualified candidates. Those who qualify the CBT 1 are called for CBT 2 exam.
The CBT 1 exam was conducted from November 25 to 29, 2024 for ALP posts. The exam for Technician posts was conducted on December 19, 20, 23, 24, 26, 28, 29 and 30, 2024. The CBT 1 exam of RRB ALP comprises questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence, and Reasoning, General Science and General awareness on current affairs. The test carries a total of 75 marks. The CBT 2 is divided into two parts-Part A and Part B. Part A of the second stage CBT comprises 100 objective-type questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering and General Awareness on Current Affairs. In Part B, Total 75 questions are asked in the exam. This part is qualifying in nature and comprises questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by the Director General of Employment & Training (DGET).
Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) announced the revised RRB ALP CBT 2 2025 exam dates for CEN 01/2024. The revised exam dates for RRB ALP CBT 2 are May 2 and 6, 2025. The revised exam will be conducted for candidates whose exams were cancelled due to technical glitch.

What is RRB ALP Post?
Railway recruitment board (RRB) conducts RRB ALP & Technician exam to recruit Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician for different railway zones across the country. A colour photograph of size 3.5cm x 3.5cm (not older than three months from the date of application) with clear front view of the candidate without cap and sunglasses should be uploaded. Yes, RRB ALP vacancies 2024 were revised by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs). The vacancies were revised to 18799. Earlier, a total of 5696 vacancies were announced for the exam. The official notice released by RRBs reads, "Railway Recruitment Board has published CEN 01/2024 for the recruitment of Assistant Loco Pilo (ALP) with 5696 vacancies all over the Indian Railways. A review has been undertaken in view of additional demand received from Zonal Railways and vacancies of Assistant Loco
Pilot (ALP) stands enhanced to 18799. Necessary notice indicating RRB wise community wise breakup of vacancies will be displayed on website subsequently. Opportunity will also be given to existing candidates to revise their choice of RRB once details are published."

In first two CBTs questions will come in MCQ format. The third stage is CBAT, where candidates will be given five test batteries. The CBT carries 75 objective-type multiple-choice questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence, and Reasoning, General Science and General awareness on current affairs. The test carries a total of 75 marks. The duration of the test is 60 minutes. The standard of questions in first stage CBT is framed as per the educational qualification prescribed for the posts. The pattern for second stage is divided into parts-A and B. Part A of the second stage CBT comprises 100 objective-type questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering and General Awareness on Current Affairs. Part B carries questions based on the candidate's discipline.
In RRB ALP & Technician exam, only those who have applied for Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) and cleared second stage of, need to appear for CBAT. CBAT is for the candidates who have applied for technician post only. Candidates equal to eight times the number of ALP vacancies are called for CBAT based on the performance in Part A of second stage CBT, subject to qualifying the Part B. Candidates are required to qualify in each of the test batteries of CBAT. The questions in CBAT are in English and Hindi only. There is no negative marking in CBAT. To draw the merit list of ALP, 70 per cent weightage is given to Part A of second stage CBT and 30 per cent in CBAT.
