The general awareness section is one of the most important parts of the RPF SI paper. This section alone has 50 out of the total 120 marks in the computer-based test of RPF SI. To prepare for this section, you can follow the given tips:
1. Analyze previous year's papers to note important topics to prepare, as the syllabus is vast.
2. Refer to any one good GK book from Arihant, Pearson, or Lucent.
3. This subject is more about the memory of facts than practice.
4. You need to note down relevant data on Current Affairs from a monthly or yearly magazine.
5. You can read this subject in sections on arithmetic and reasoning.
6. Focus on multiple revisions to score well in the GK subject.
7. Conduct a practice test to determine which topics you are unfamiliar with. Study as much as you can to excel in this section.

The SSC JHT exam consists of two papers. These papers are paper 1 and paper 2. The format of the exam is as follows:
1. Paper 1: There are two sections, each with a total of 100 questions. This paper is a computer-based multiple-choice test. To attempt this paper, you have two hours. You become qualified to take paper 2 after passing paper 1. In this paper, incorrect answers are penalized by 0.25 points.
2. Paper 2: It is pen-and-paper-based with descriptive-type questions. The time limit is similar to Paper 1, I. e. , two hours. Paper two is worth 200 marks for four essay- and translation-based questions. You need to score higher to get selected as a junior or senior translator in this paper.

The descriptive paper is Paper 2 of SSC JHT. This paper is of two hours' duration with a total of 200 marks. The experts have suggested the following tips to prepare for the JHT descriptive paper:
1. Practice essay writing in proper format.
2. Begin with a strong introduction and proceed to the conclusion in flow.
3. You need to have command over grammar and vocabulary to do well in this paper.
4. Include examples and current events in your essay wherever required.
5. Read editorials and government articles regularly.
6. Evaluate your translation skills by practicing on news articles.
7. Join any mock series to practice in exam-like situations. You need to analyze each mock and improve your translation skills to make the JHT merit list.

No prior experience is necessary to apply for SSC JHT. Having translation experience is optional and not mandatory. The eligibility requirements demand:
1. A master's degree from a university recognised by the government
2. A Diploma or Certificate programme in Hindi to English and vice versa translation
You will need to have translation experience if you don't have the necessary degree or certification. It goes like this:
1. You must have two years of experience translating from Hindi to English and vice versa in any central or state government offices in order to apply for post codes A to D.
2. For post code E, you need to have three years of experience in Hindi to English translation and vice versa in a central or state government office.

The SSC JHT exam is held to hire junior and senior Hindi translators in numerous government ministries and departments. These include the Ministry of Railways, the Official Language Service, the Armed Forces Headquarters, etc.
1. It is a national-level government service exam.
2. There are two papers in total, computer-based paper 1 and pen-based paper 2.
3. The time allotted to attempt both papers is two hours.
4. The questions are of the objective type in paper 1, with each question having four options.
5. The second paper has a total of 200 marks and includes a descriptive essay and translation questions.
6. You can choose to attempt SSC JHT in either Hindi or English.
7. There is one fourth mark deduced for wrong answers.
8. To apply, you need to have a master's degree and a Diploma or certificate course in translation (Hindi to English).
