Government & Defence Entrance Exam

Civil servants in India are executive arm of Indian Democracy. IAS officers, the most important component of civil services, are responsible for the law and order and general administration in the area under their supervision. Typically the functions of an IAS officer are as follows:
(a) To handle the daily affairs of the both state and central government.
(b) Help in policy formulation and decision making, when posted on staff roles in ministries.
(c) To implement government policies at grass-root level when posted at field work I.e. as SDM, ADM, DM and Divisional Commissioner and act as intermediate between public and government by good execution and deliverance skills.
(d) Leadership roles in Development boards.
(e) Coordination with other governmental org or departs such as Police, Defence, Engineering, etc.
(f) Leadership roles in some PSUs.
(g) Defacto office bearers of lot of Government, semi-government bodies.

You can select any of them as per your interest. IAS is the highest exam conducted in India for Administrative Services and there is nothing better than that not even MBA if it is cleared. MBA is also good if you want to go in management field. The syllabus for MBA is Quantitative Aptitude, Analytical Reasoning, Logical Ability, Decision Making Analysis, English Comprehension and Grammar and also General Knowledge in some of the exams. In IAS the syllabus is general awareness, quantitative and logical ability test, history, geography, general science, economics, maths, general administration, political science, Indian arts and culture and lot more.
