Yes dear! Absolutely different they are. While real time project handling is considered the two terms are completely different in scope. Graphic design particularly deals with technologies like Photoshop, Core Draw, Logo designing, Illustrator etc. While you are a graphic designer you shall be asked to actually create a visual view of complete project/website you are working on based on the skeletal idea provided to you through UX team or department. You need to work on setting suitable attractive and accessible to all color combinations for web project, colors for each and every element, creation of a styleguide document, measuring each and every pixel of the web page and placing elements accordingly, setting widths and dimensions of other elements like a box, button etc. Whereas as an interactive designer you obtain all details from a graphic designer in the form of styleguides and PSD files and convert it into HTML, CSS, Bootstrap Query and other relevant technological code that runs as a user interface directly from the machine. Graphic designing is less or rather no code area and interactive designing is a pure code area but both of them hold equal job opportunities and interest in them. Also, with the growing IT advancement, both the fields are expected to gradually merge together into one.

There are multiple design colleges in India and abroad. Based on your financial strength, you can chose either of it. Studying abroad definitely gives you an exposure of global design spectrum with on-hands experience of being mentored by industries leading professionals and designers. However, it is suggestive to pursue Masters from abroad since by then it will give you a clear road map of what specific specialization you want to explore further.
