Graphic design in simple terms can be defined as the art or skill of combining text and pictures in advertisements, magazines, or books. The designers create visual concepts, using computer software or by hand, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate consumers. They develop the overall layout and production design for various applications such as advertisements, brochures, magazines, and corporate reports.
Since this is a very skilled job, you can have a better career prospects only if you have had a good experience. So, it is necessary to take up a job once you complete a course in web designing. You may work for 2-3 years and once you gain sufficient knowledge and experience, you can then go for a Master's degree which would increase your chances of getting a good job as well as with a good salary. It is necessary to improve your skills a lot as this is a field where more creative and highly skilled people are in demand.

Web Designing Course basically deals with creation and maintenance of websites.
Many Private institutes and coaching provide Web-Designing Course but the courses differs from Institute.
Generally, the available courses are certificate courses, diploma courses and post graduate courses. All these would ultimately direct you in the field of web design but each course has its own uniqueness.
Certificate courses:
These are generally short term courses which would be for a month or so. It would cover the necessary concepts in brief but you cannot get the knowledge as that of a diploma or a degree course.
You will end up with a good knowledge and a certification.
Diploma courses:
These courses would last for several months or so. It is just like a degree but in a consolidated way. It would cover many of the courses that would make you eligible to get a job in the field of web design.
Post Graduate courses:
These courses include advanced diploma and post graduate degree courses like MA.
On doing this course, you may acquire a complete knowledge over the field of web designing. This would increase your chances of getting a job.
In all, the course structure would be the same but the duration as well as the depth of concepts and training would differ.

They develop the overall layout and production design for various applications such as for advertisements, brochures, magazines, and corporate reports and I actually do not have much idea about civil engineering. Only thing I know is you should do your work only when you enjoying it, if it is burden on you, you should quit. You also look quite confused, you have to clear yourself what actually your dream is? And graphic designing is a course which you can learn any time in your lifespan. The job opportunities in this field are endless. What really matters is, are you enjoying your job. if you really want to be a graphic designer then there are no issues in coming to this field, you will always be welcome. Also, you can pursue the course after completing civil engineering.
