Hi, your grades are too low for both the countries. You may still find very little options in Canada but Germany is a tough call. You can look for suitable options in Australia or even New Zealand. These countries too have a great demand for graduate mechanical engineers.

You can take a GRE diagnostic test. You can download the Powerprep software from the below mentioned link:
https://www.ets.org/gre/revised_general/prepare/powerprep2
You can attempt one test at the beginning of your preparation under actual test conditions. By doing so, you can get a rough idea about the various sections and the topics in where you are really weak.
Be familiar with the three sections in GRE verbal, quantitative and analytical writing. Each of these sections consists of different types of questions. Equal importance should be given for all the three sections to score high.

Hi Nikhil,
I would suggest you to start your preparation from the 2nd year, but you should write it in either 3rd or 4th year because GATE and other exams cover the course of mainly 2nd and 3rd year.
If you are applying for fall, you should take latest by July or even before that, so that after writing it once you can think about a second chance, if not happy with your score, otherwise you start building up your SOP and search for the right place to go.
All the best.

As per my knowledge, GRE is not required to get admission in Australian Universities. However, IELTS or TOEFL percentage is required.
1. IELTS: Minimum of 6 in each section and overall of 6.5 band.
2. TOEFL: Minimum of 23 in each section.
3. GMAT is required by some universities for the MBA program.
Although, I would suggest you to check the requirements of the university in which you are interested.

GRE is a computer based test meant to measure your overall academic ability and is the standard exam for admission to non-business schools. However, an increasing number of business schools are accepting scores from the GRE exam.
The computer based test can be taken multiple times a year. The paper based test can be taken up to 3 times a year in October, November, and February.
The duration of the test is about 3 hours and 45 minutes (includes 1-minute breaks after each section and a 10-minute break after the third section).
Scores:
1. Analytical writing: 0.0 to 6.0 (in 0.5 point increments).
2. Verbal reasoning: 130 to 170 (in 1 point in

Hi Swagata,
Chances could be good if the university do not require a GRE score. Your IELTS score is also a little low as most MS programmes require an overall score of 6.5. Kindly, visit university websites for admission requirements. Admission chances will depend on your profile and will be decided by the university solely.

Hi Gautami,
You must decide what to study and then take tests like GRE, TOEFL, etc. You must know that taking these tests involves time and money. It is entirely up to you, if you want to continue dentistry or not. Also, decide where to study as not every university and program requires GRE. GRE is mainly required in USA.

Hi,
You are eligible for US universities. Some universities are finicky about the AWA score. However, I need further details of your academics and course preference to guide you further.

Hi Janu,
A good GRE score would be around 310 and TOEFL 100+ depending on your profile and test score. The cost can vary depending on the college and location, but at an average it may cost you around Rs.9 lakhs to Rs.15 lakhs including living expenses.
