Master's degree from Canada depends entirely on the overall profile of the applicant, which includes following parameters:
1. Academic background and CGPA.
2. Research experience.
3. Projects undertaken.
4. Work experience or internship undertaken.
5. IELTS/ TOEFL scores (Average requirement for IELTS is 6.5 band and for TOEFL is 90).
6. Financial capacity.

GRE is not required if not mentioned by the university. It is mainly required in US. If you have good academic performance, you need not take GRE even if you are applying to a top university in Australia.

GATE entrance examination helps to get admission into government colleges in India for M.Tech. Certain jobs also demand for a valid GATE score. GATE score is also accepted by many private engineering colleges for admission into M.Tech.
GRE entrance examination helps to get admission into courses abroad. You also need to appear for TOEFL to be able to get admission into universities abroad. If you're financially good, you can opt for this option.
