Since admission to the LLM (Professional) programme will be largely decided by the candidate's performance in the bachelor's degree program, motivation letter, and personal interview, admission to the LLM (General) course will be awarded based on Merit in the Combined Law Aptitude Test (CLAT).

The eligibility criteria to get admission in Gujarat Maritime University is quite easy. you just need atleast 50% in your 12th boards and you have to score good in enterence exam . The enterance exam is of 100 marks out of which 70 marks are of exam which will be conducted online basically mcq type exam and the rest 30 marks are of personal interview. The mcq exam will consist 70 MCQ and total time duration is 90 mins and there is no negative marking. The one who makes it in first 60 students will get the admission, as the total intake is only 60 students

To qualify for the LLM programme at Gujarat Maritime University, candidate need to have a law degree from a recognised university that is accredited. For applicants from General, OBC, PWD, NRI, PIO, and OCI backgrounds, they must score at least 50% in the qualifying test. SC/ST applicants need to score at least 45%. Moreover, applicants might have to take part in a university-run entrance exam or a well-known common entrance exam for postgraduate law courses.
