GADVASU was founded in 2005 by the Punjab Legislature. It is one of the most prestigious universities in India and offers excellent opportunities for UG and PG students. It is ranked first among the veterinary universities by the Indian Council of Agriculture and Research. Its rank is 10th in Punjab and 151st in India in 2023. The median packages offered by GADVASU for UG 4-years, UG 5-years, and PG 2-years are INR 3.85 LPA, INR 3 LPA, and INR 3.25 LPA, respectively. Also, the placement rates of UG 5-years and PG 2-years are 87% and 92%, respectively, in 2022. These achievements make GADVASU one of the best universities in Punjab.

The cutoffs for B.Tech. can vary each academic year. It totally depends on the number of applicants and the difficulty of the JEE exam. However, the cutoffs for year 2023-24 are: for General category, it is above 90 percentile; for OBC, it is 75+ percentile; and for SC/ST, it is above 51 percentile.
Moreover, to take admission in NITs or IITs, the eligibility criteria are different. A candidate must have an aggregate of 75% in 12th grade, have a score of 180 or above in the JEE exam, and have a JEE rank below 5000.

GADVASU is one of the most prestigious universities in India and offers excellent opportunities for B.Tech. and M.Tech. students. A candidate must have an aggregate of 60% marks or 6 CGPA to opt for M.Tech at GADVASU. Also, they must appear in the AIEEA-PG entrance exam. For inservice candidates, the minimum cutoff is 55% marks or 5.5 CGPA at graduation.
Moreover, the minimum admission criteria for B.Tech. at GASVASU is an aggregate of 60% marks from a reputed institute.

GADVASU B.Tech. Dairy Technology students can pursue their careers at top firms like Amul, Nestle, Cream Bell, Mother Dairy, etc. They are offered roles such as Deputy manager, Assistant manager, Data analyst, Dairy engineer, etc.
On the other hand, B.Tech. Biotechnology students are offered roles like Biotechnologist, Research scientists, Bioinformatics analyst, Product manager, etc.

The cutoffs may vary slightly for the different types of Candidatures. Here is the latest cutoff information for Bachelor in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V. Sc. and A.H.) at GADVASU:
General Category: 715 - 117 OBC/SC/NT Category: 116 - 93OBC/SC/NT - PH Category: 104 - 93
The cut-off of the candidates seeking admission under Self-Financed, Category-II and Special Management Quota seats will be upto 120 marks.
For a student holding Punjabi domicile, the marks may vary from 120 to 300 depending on the sub category of the student. 250 is a safe score for OBC Category student.

The applicant needs to have a 10+2 diploma or its equivalent in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English from a nationally recognised board of secondary education, with a minimum aggregate average (GPA) of 50% (or 40% for SC/ST, BC, and DP categories) and no optional subjects.
