Travel and Tourism is one of the worlds the largest foreign exchange earner among industries, provides employment directly to millions of people worldwide and indirectly through many associated service industries. Job prospects both in public and private sectors are bright. However, the best prospectus for qualified tourism professionals are in the private sector with travel agencies, tour operators, airlines, hotels, transport and cargo companies etc. Salaries depend on qualifications and work profile.

Candidates can do degree course in hotel management soon after 10+2 which are offered by various hotel management institutes. However, candidates who do not have 50% marks in +2 can do Diploma or certificate course in hotel management which are being offered by various institutes.

National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) - An autonomous body established by the UGC to evaluate quality of higher education institutes in India. It grades an institution from A+ (best rating) to C. Rating D indicates that the institution is not accredited.
