Learning something is never a waste of time. However, if you feel you can do better in your field of study, i.e civil engineering, you should definitely pursue that. You can always do a part-time course to learn the art of cooking. If you strongly feel that you want to learn cooking full time, you should pursue a course in Bachelors in Catering Technology and Culinary Arts from Culinary Academy of India. It will broaden your scope for employment.

Try to focus on the written exams for that matter example, CAT, MAT, NMAT, etc. Based on score and calls, apply for colleges. Thanks and all the best.
