Hotel/Hospitality management is a field that focuses on all areas of hospitality operations including hotels, restaurants, cruise ships, amusement parks, country clubs, and convention centres.Some good colleges include:
- IHM- Mumbai.
- IHM- Delhi.
- Indian Institute of Hospitality & Management- Thane.
- Rizvi College of Hotel Management- Mumbai
- IHM- Meerut and many more institutes.
The eligibility depends on the type of course that you wish to pursue. The details of some courses is stated below:
Diploma: Class 10th pass from a recognized board with minimum 40% marks.
Bachelor's Degree: Class 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks.

JEE hotel management is an all India level exam conducted by the NCHMCT every year for admissions in IHMs. The exam has 5 sections:
1. Quantitative aptitude.
2. Logical reasoning.
3. GK and current affairs.
4. English.
5. Service aptitude.
It is a 3 hour exam, so there will be a lot of time. Now, you can either join some coaching or you can go for self-preparation.
Books:
1. Quant: RS Agarawal.
2. Reasoning: Verbal and non-verbal reasoning by RS Aggarawal.
3. English: You should read newspapers. Norman Lewis for Vocab.
4. GK/ CA: Newspaper for current affairs and Lucent for static GK.
5. Service aptitude: RS Aggarawal.

Hi,
Firstly, you need to understand that hotel management course in NIT is only theoretical. Hotel management is about the presentation skills, practical approach towards your work, work culture in hotel industry and you can learn that only through regular mode.
So, don't go for distance mode in the same.

Christ University and Welingkar are very good for pursuing MBA in tourism through distance mode. Placement support provided is decent but you can't solely rely on it.
