Admission to HPTU BTech programs is based on scores in JEE Main or HPCET. Candidates can apply with either of the exam results. Selection is strictly merit-based, considering entrance test performance. Higher scores increase the chances of getting preferred specialisation.

HPTU provides BTech in 9 specialisations viz; Mechanical, IT, CSE, Electronics, and Textile Engineering. The programs are technical education that is relevant to the industry. Students acquire practical knowledge together with the theory. The programs last four years.

The students are required to bring original and self-attested mark sheets of Class 10 and 12, HPCET score card and character certificate. There are also other documents such as domicile and reserved category certificate where applicable. The PG aspirants are also required to submit their UG mark sheet. Kashmiri Migrants are required to provide special domicile certificate.

In order to be admitted to HPTU, students have to visit official site and enter accordingly with basic information. All one has to do is verify his or her email and then fill in personal and academic details. The candidates are to upload their photo, signature and signature by the guardian according to the size requirements. The non-HPCET applicants will pay INR 1550 (INR 1400 in case of reserved category) as an application fee.

The Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) will release the HPCET 2025 cutoff on their website, himtu.ac.in, after each round of counseling. 

When will the HPCET 2025 results be declared.

The HPCET 2025 results will be declared by May 21, 2025. 

Candidates will be able to download and print their scorecard from the HPCET website.
