International students have to submit a completed application through Uni Assist. The documents that have to be submitted along with the application are a school leaving certificate, academic transcripts, language proficiency documents, etc.

What happens after submitting the documents?

After the documents have been submitted, the applicants will be notified that these documents have been forwarded electronically to Humboldt University of Berlin. Those who do not meet the entry requirements will also be notified.

• Once the applicants have submitted the application data via Uni-assist, the university will send an email to the applicants which includes more information and the status of the application
• If the application is successful, accept the place online within the specified time frame
• The university will provide the letter of decision on admission in electronic form
• The list of all the documents required for the enrolment shall also be provided online, after the admission and the applicant's acceptance of the place
• Make sure to accept or decline the place of study online as per the deadline

Various programs and trusts are there that provide support to international students. If the applicants want to apply for a scholarship they must consider the following:

• As per the requirements of the scholarships, references, LORs or certificates and a CV are required
• A completed form and cover letters are also necessary
• While some scholarships have no preferences for applicants for others there are application deadlines or are limited only for master's or doctoral students or international students
• Community volunteer work is often a requirement and should be presented in the cover letter and showcased through sports or references

To apply for the Humboldt University of Berlin, follow these steps:

1. Register on the external application website or CHARITE CHIC (for medicine students).

2. Confirm your registration through the email link.

3. Fill in your information in the application system.

4. Choose the subjects you want to study at HU, based on the university's contract with your home university.

5. Submit your German language test results or equivalent proof via email.

6. Double-check your application before submitting it.

7. For ERASMUS applicants, you'll receive a nomination form via email.

8. Print, sign, and have your home university coordinator sign and stamp the nomination form.

9. Send the signed form back via email to the provided address.

10. You will get confirmation by the end of July for the winter semester and by the end of January for the summer semester.
