IBPS PO Syllabus

The syllabus for the IBPS PO is created by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. To achieve a high exam result, candidates need to prepare in accordance with the syllabus. There are three sections to the IBPS PO syllabus: preliminary, mains, and interviews. The quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, and English language skills are included in the IBPS PO Prelims 2023 syllabus. Reasoning Ability, Computer Aptitude, English Language, Data Interpretation and Analysis, General Economy, or Banking Awareness are among the topics included in the IBPS Mains syllabus. Logical thinking, alphabetic sequences, ranking, direction, or alphabet tests, data sufficiency, coded inequalities, puzzles, seating arrangements, syllogisms, input-output, coding-decoding, and blood relations are examples of reasoning techniques. Simplifying, profit and loss, mixtures and algebras, simple and compound interest, surds and indices, work and time are all components of quantitative aptitude.

The IBPS PO Syllabus covers various sections to assess a candidate's suitability for the Probationary Officer position in participating banks. Syllabus for each stage:

Preliminary Exam:

• Reasoning Ability (Logical Reasoning, Puzzles, Seating Arrangement, etc.)
• Quantitative Aptitude (Simplification, Profit & Loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, etc.)
• English Language (Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test, Para Jumbles, etc.)

Mains Exam:

• Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude (Logical Reasoning, Coding-Decoding, Computer Basics, etc.)
• General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness (Current Affairs, Financial Awareness, Banking Products & Services, etc.)
• Quantitative Aptitude (Similar to Preliminary Exam but slightly advanced)
• English Language (Descriptive Test)

Interview:

No specific syllabus, but it generally assesses your personality, communication skills, motivation, and suitability for the role of a bank officer.

• Seating Arrangement and Puzzles: Around 20-24 questions are asked in the exam.
• Syllogism: This section may consist of the topics of reverse syllogism and direct syllogism
• Coding-Decoding: Questions on word coding, sentence coding etc. are asked
• Miscellaneous Problems: This comprises the topics such as blood relations, directions sense, order and ranking, and alphanumeric series. 3-4 questions are asked
• Input-Output: The questions are based on single and double shifting. In total 5 questions can be expected from this section
• Data Sufficiency: Approx., 5-7 statement-based questions are asked
• Logical Reasoning: The questions range from several topics such as statement and conclusion, argument, course of action, cause and effect, theme based etc. The aspirants can expect approximately 10 questions in total
• Computer Aptitude: Flowchart-based questions can be expected from this section
