If a student misses an internal examination for a valid reason, such as illness or a family emergency, they can apply for a makeup examination. However, the institute has a strict policy on attendance and academic performance, and missing internal examinations without a valid reason can affect a student's overall grade in the course.
In case a student misses an internal examination due to an unexcused absence, the institute may deduct marks or impose other penalties as per its internal rules and regulations.

The hostel fees at IIM Jammu is as follows-
- Single occupancy room: Rs. 1,20,000 per annum
- Double occupancy room: Rs. 73500 per annum
The hostel fees include accommodation charges, mess charges, and other facilities provided by the institute. The mess charges cover breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two-time tea or coffee. The institute also provides laundry facilities, medical facilities, and 24x7 Wi-Fi connectivity to the students.

As per the Indian government policy, there are seat reservations for candidates belonging to certain categories at IIM Jammu. The reservation policy at IIM Jammu is as follows:
- 15% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste category.
- 7.5% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.
- 27% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category.
- 10% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category.

IIM Jammu is a residential campus. The campus is located in Jagti, Nagrota, which is about 20 kms form Jammu city. The campus has modern infrastructure facilities such as air conditioned classrooms, a well stocked library, computer labs, a sports complex, gymnasium and a hostel with wifi. IIM Jammu is a relatively new institution and was established on 2016. It is mentored by IIM Lucknow, which is one of the top management institute of India. The faculty, peer Groups and courses of the university are top notch. Placements are also good. IIM Jammu Placements 2023 concluded with 100% Placements. Average Package increased by 19% which stood at INR 16.5 LPA whereas IIM Jammu the highest Package stood at INR 64 LPA. Recruiters like Aditya Birla Group, Cognizant, ICICI Bank, Capgemini, Accenture Deloitte Participated in the placement drive of 2023. Social life is vibrant enough.

The placement of IIM Jammu in 2023 has been completed with 100% placements. The average IIM Jammu package increased by 19 %, which reached INR 16.6 LPA, while the highest was INR 64 LPA. The placement drive was participated by recruitment agents such as the Aditya Birla group, Cognizant, ICICI Bank, Capgemini and Deloitte. A total of 126 recruiters participated in the placement among which 59 were new recruiters.

The placement of IIM Jammu in 2023 has been completed with 100% placements. The placement was attended by a total of 126 recruitment agents, of which 59 were new. To the 233 students who participated, 246 offers were given. Multiple offers were made to about 24 students. The average IIM Jammu package increased by 19 %, which reached INR 16.6 LPA, while the highest package was INR 64 LPA. The placement drive was participated by recruitment agents such as the Aditya Birla group, Cognizant, ICICI Bank, Capgemini, Deloitte, Adani Group, Amazon, Microsoft, McKinsey & Company, HDFC Bank, Infosys, KPMG, etc.

IIM Jammu provides hostels facilities for its students. The cost of IIM Jammu's hostel is INR 73500 for both girls and boys and includes facilities such as mess, gym, wifi, etc.
Other than that, Apna PG for girls is located near Canal Road. It's a good housing facility which provides both single and double sharing rooms along with wifi.
Sahaj PG is also a good option. It has fully furnished rooms (single, double and triple sharing) with AC.
BBAS PG for girls and boys is also a good option. It has a library avaliable at a reasonable price. Also, it's LGBTQ+ friendly.
