IIM Jammu - Indian Institute of Management

IIM Jammu follows a grading system to evaluate the academic performance of its students. The grading system is based on CGPA, which is calculated based on the grades obtained by the student in each course.

The CGPA is calculated by multiplying the grade points earned by the credit units of the course and then dividing the sum by the total number of credit units. IIM Jammu follows a 10-point grading system, where the grades and their corresponding grade points are as follows:

- O (Outstanding) - 10

- A+ (Excellent) - 9

- A (Very Good) - 8

- B+ (Good) - 7

- B (Average) - 6

- C (Below Average) - 5

- D (Poor) - 4

- F (Fail) - 0

The CGPA is calculated at the end of each trimester, and the overall CGPA is calculated based on the cumulative performance of the student in all the trimesters. The CGPA is an important indicator of the academic performance of the student and is used by the institute to determine the eligibility for various academic awards and scholarships.

As per the Indian government policy, there are seat reservations for candidates belonging to certain categories at IIM Jammu. The reservation policy at IIM Jammu is as follows:

- 15% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste category.

- 7.5% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.

- 27% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category.

- 10% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category.

The remaining seats are open for candidates from the general category. The selection process at IIM Jammu is based on merit, which includes the candidate's performance in the CAT exam, academic record, work experience, and performance in the personal interview.

IIM Jammu is a residential campus. The campus is located in Jagti, Nagrota, which is about 20 kms form Jammu city.
