To get selected for IIM, the basic criteria is to qualify for the CAT exam. You need to have more than a 90 percentile in CAT to get admission to the top Iims. Fresh graduates usually think that experienced applicants have an edge during the selection process. This is not true; if you have skills, you can get admission to any top IIM, irrespective of background. The following qualities can help you get selected for Iims:
1. Decent academic record
2. Good performance in written ability test
3. Effective communication skills for the Personal Interview round
4. Mastery of your graduate subject.
5. Effective presentation skills.

The basic requirement for admission to IIM is a qualifying CAT score with a high percentile. If you obtained a CAT score of more than 95 percentile, your backlogs will not affect your chances of admission to Iims. One of the reasons why an MBA from IIM is so special is the ample opportunity for foreign placements as several foreign companies visit IIMs for recruitment. This is also an indication of the strong alumni network and the achievements of past students of IIM in global firms. Higher compensation

One of the significant difference is that IIM is an autonomous institute which provides Post graduate Diploma in management, better known as PGDM, instead of an MBA course, which other universities offer. One of the biggest things that makes IIM Ahmedabad itself special is the faculty. IIM Ahmedabad faculty includes well-known scientists, professors, and business thinkers. Some of the professors here have followers who appear to be sects because of the knowledge, insight, and sheer wisdom they bring to the class.
