Hello,
By the way of introduction, I am an alumnus of IIM, Indore. So, basically, the answer has follow up questions. What kind of life do you expect post an MBA? What kind of profile you want to get into? Whether or not you want to settle abroad? Do you plan to open your own venture?
To put my story here, my main intention to choose an MBA here than looking in abroad was:
1- I wanted to settle over here.
2- I wanted to explore more into analytics plus management world and India provides best mix for both if you want to do a job in a corporate world.
3- I do not intend to open my own venture.
All in all, it depends on the mix of what you wan

First of all, IIMs have a rigorous procedure for admitting students. This consists of a personal interview. In this interview they make sure that only the people who are genuinely interested in field are admitted. They look for leaders and doers and make sure they get in.
So most of students are really brilliant and have a spark in them. Then the curriculum of IIMs is also really rigorously. This prepares students to do anything, whether working at a top management position or starting their own company.
IIMs have a practical and industry based curriculum which helps students to get insights into the working of industry. Apart from it II

MBA from abroad is not as good as IIMs.The major reason for this is as follows.
1. High fees- people go abroad by spending lakhs and lakhs and end up with a lot of debts.
2.Banks loans-The chances of getting loans for doing MBA from foreign university is very high such a huge amount will not be provided by banks in our country.
3.The issue of stay back- Majority of the countries give stay back for students after the course for just 1 or 2 years. In those 1 or 2 years, the amount spent for education is not able to get back.
4.Quality of IIMs- IIMs are world recognized. Lot of foreign international relationship exists with IIMs all over Indi

Hello jithendar,
To get admission into IIMs for MBA, you need to crack an exam called CAT (common admission test) which is held every year.
The eligibility is to have at least 50% in your Bachelor's degree (for unreserved category) and at least 45% for SC, ST and PWD categories.

Hello Sumanth,
Yes, IIMs do accept the GMAT score, but only for one year executive program.
However, all the IIMs have a different requirement for the admissions.
For example: IIM-Ahmedabad will look at a score of 700+ only and a work experience of more than 7 years. Whereas, IIM-Indore might settle for a GMAT score of 650 and work experience of 5 years
Good Luck.

Mostly, the global rankings on most of the websites cannot be trusted as such.
The one which I will use is the Financial Times Global MBA rankings which seem to be a reliable source.
The good news is that the top three IIMs managed to secure positions in Top 100.
You will be surprised to know that the top among Indian Universities is not and IIM but is the Indian School of Business (ISB).
According to the 2017 rankings ISB ranks 27th while IIM Ahmedabad ranks 29th. But for 2016 IIM A was at 24th position while ISB was at 29th.
IIM Bangalore ranks at 49th position I.e. way below ISB and IIM A.
Then IIM Calcutta just manages to make a cut a

It highly depends on your goals and your financial status.
If you are getting top three IIMs then don't think twice. Just go for it. Even if the fees are high the returns are also really good.
Only two three IIMs after IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Calcutta are worth the fees they charge.
IIM Indore and Kozhikode are also pretty good. The newer IIMs aren't comparable to the top ones.
You can also consider ISB (Indian School of Business). It is also comparable to top three IIMs.
If you aren't getting top three IIMs and ISB then go for good private universities.
The top ones are -

The salaries would depend upon the turnover of the organization that you join and also in the quantum if responsibilities you get in the beginning .But it would surely be not less than INR 2.50 Lakhs per annum.
