IIT Dhanbad cutoff 2024 has been released for BTech, Integrated BTech and BArch courses in the form of opening and closing ranks. In Round 5, the closing ranks varied between 3846 and 16011 wherein B.Tech. in CSE is highly competitive among General category students under the AI Quota.
While comparing the IIT Dhanbad CSE cutoff 2024 with the last two years, we can see that B.Tech. in CSE has shown a declining trend in its Round 5 closing ranks. The Round 5 cutoff for the same course was 3008 in 2023 and 2888 in 2022 for the General category students for the AI Quota.

IIT Dhanbad B.Tech admission is based on JEE Advanced Cutoff ranks. The IIT Dhanbad JEE Advanced Cutoff 2024 was out for Round 5, for admission to various B.Tech courses. The toughest course to get into the college for the General AI category candidates was Computer Science and Engineering, with the closing Cutoff rank of 3846. The easiest course for the General AI category was B.Tech. in Mining Machinery Engineering, with the closing cutoff rank of 15321.

The best placement rate in 2025 was recorded for BTech Environmental Engineering, wherein the placement rate was 100%. It was followed by BTech CSE and BTech ECE with placement percentage of 92.14% and 90.09%. For BTech Double Major degree, the placement rate in 2025 was 100%.
The placement rate recorded during BTech + MTech placement 2025 was 100%, except Civil Engineering, wherein the placement rate was 50%.
The placement rate recorded during Integrated MTech placements 2025 for Applied Geology, Applied Geophysics and Mathematics & computing branches was 87.5%, 81.82% and 90.91%.

To get a seat at IIT Dhanbad you need to follow specific admission process based on programme you're interested in:
For Undergraduate Programs (B Tech & Integrated MTech):
Appear for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main.
After qualifying in JEE Main you need to appear for JEE Advanced. Only the top performers in JEE Main are eligible to take JEE Advanced.
Based on your performance in JEE Advanced participate in Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process.
