The entrance exam required for admission to the MBA programme at IIT Dhanbad is the Common Admission Test (CAT):
Eligibility
Candidates must have a valid CAT score and a first-class or 60% marks or CGPA of 6.0 out of 10 in their degree. Final-year students are also eligible to apply.
Selection process
Candidates are shortlisted based on their CAT percentile and then invited for a personal interview.
Application process

IIT Dhanbad offers a four-year BTech degree course in Computer Science & Engineering. Admission to the four-year course is entrance-based. It is also one of the top BTech branches. As per the IIT ISM Dhanbad's past years records, almost 100% of students from the CSE department get placed.Ranking: IITs have a higher ranking and reputation among the engineering colleges in India and the world. The cutoff was released for diferent categories under the AI quota. The Cutoff for the General AI closed at the range of 103 and 1017 for different MSc courses. IIT Dhanbad accepts IIT JAM exam scores for admission to the MSc courses. The cutoff is released category-wise for candidates under the AI quota. The Cutoff for the General AI category candidates for different courses was between the range of 103 and 1017. The MSc courses available at IIT Dhanbad with their respective Cutoff is given in the table below:

IIT Dhanbad considers the CAT percentile for MBA admission. The IIT Dhanbad MBA Cutoff 2024 will be released after the CAT results are declared. The Overall CAT percentage to get into IIT Dhanbad for the General AI category was 90.

IIT Dhanbad JEE Advanced Cutoff 2024 was concluded after the last round of cutoff. The cutoff ranks for the General All India category candidates was ranged between 3846 and 15321. The closing cutoff rank for BTech (Hons) CSE was 3846 in 2024, 3258 in 2023 and 3009 in 2022; which shows that the cutoff witnessed an improving trend for the course. For most of the courses, there was a fluctuating trend for during the past few years. The last-round closing Cutoff of various courses for the General AI category have been given in the table below to show the trend for the 3 years:

IIT Dhanbad JEE Advanced Cutoff was released based on the category and gender. For the General AI category candidates, the Cutoff ranks ranged between 3846 and 15321. To get B.Tech. (Hons.) in Mechanical Engineering, the General AI category candidates must have secured a minimum cutoff rank of 9875. For the General AI female candidates, the minimum JEE Advanced rank to get Mechanical Engineering was 19099. For the OBC AI category, the cutoff rank for Mechanical closed at 7762.

To get admission into IIT Dhanbad, the JEE Advanced Cutoff rank for the female candidate (General Category) ranged between 8682 and 25824. Since BTech in CSE was the toughest course to get into, therefore the Cutoff for the same was the lowest cutoff rank i.e. 8682. For the Female Candidates (OBC category), the JEE Advanced Cutoff ranged between 3220 and 9262, with the cutoff for BTech (Hons) in CSE being 3220. For the SC Female category and the ST Female category, the Cutoff ranks to secure a seat in CSE were 1552 and 439, respectively.

During the IIT Dhanbad JEE Advanced cutoff 2024, BTech in Computer Science and Engineering had the highest cutoff. The Last Round closing ranks ranged between 3846 and 16011 for students from the General AI quota. In the first round, the IIT Dhanbad CSE 2024 cutoff was 3594. Due to the cutoff, IIT Dhanbad- (ISM Dhanbad) BTech course was the most competitive to get admission to.
