The modes of IIT Kharagpur course admissions are online and offline. Admission to various courses is based on merit and scores of entrance tests. The accepted entrance exams are GATE, JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and others. Candidates must first visit the JEE Main website. Then appear for the JEE Main exams. Then take part in the counselling round and with valid scores pay the admission fee in the selected and the allotted college.

Candidates willing to get admission to the BTech course must first register for the JEE Main exams. Then appear for the JEE Mains exams. Then take part in the counselling round and pay the fee at the selected and the allotted college. The fee must be paid timely to avoid the late charges.
