According to media reports, 1,722 students registered for the 2023 placement process. At the end of session 1.1, a total of 445 offers were made. Among these, 25 offers were of packages above INR 1 crore per annum. Further, 15 international offers were received from four companies. A total of 331 companies registered for phase I of IIT Madras placements 2023. The institute recorded the highest-ever pre-placement offers of 407. As per the official website, the 2022 placement drive concluded with 1,491 offers from more than 480 companies. Engineering and Technology emerged as the top sector with 24.3% of students placed during IITM placements 2022. A large share of students received salary packages between INR 10 LPA - INR 15 LPA. The highest package offered to UG students was INR 2.14 crore per annum and for M.Tech, it was INR 46.08 LPA. The median package offered to MS and M.Sc. Students was INR 15 LPA and INR 14 LPA, respectively. Further, the IIT Madras the highest package recorded for M.A. And MBA courses was INR 22 LPA and INR 25.30 LPA, respectively.
