IIT Mandi offers various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that ensures a very strong all round development of student's personality. One of the best advantages of being in a new IIT is that almost all students get to play a very important role in the organising of various events, thereby honing their managerial skills.Many groups of like minded students have formed various societies in order to pursue their interests.

Candidates seeking admission to BSc at IIT Mandi must appear for JEE Main followed by the JEE Advanced exam and must further appear for the JoSAA Counselling for final admission. IIT Mandi BSc admission is entrance-based. Therefore, Class 12 marks are not enough for admission to the BSc programme at IIT Mandi.
