The total tuition fee for two-year course is INR 20,000 and the hostel fee (excluding meal plan) is INR 88,000. Total course fee will include other components such as admission fee, caution deposit, etc. as well. This fee is as per the first year/semester fees. Thus, the actual fee may vary. It is necessary that aspirants fulfil the eligibility requirements. Admission to the PG course is based on merit in IIT JAM. Further, candidates are shortlisted and cutoff marks are announced. The aspirants with a score equal to or higher than the cutoff need to participate in CCMN counselling. Further, seat allotment is carried out after document verification and on the basis of cutoff, seat reservation policy, and category of the candidate.

No, GATE is not compulsory and is only one of the criteria for admission. Aspirants with a valid UGC NET/CSIR NET can also apply. Candidates without any valid national-level exam score can also appear for the written test conducted by the institute.
