The infrastructure of IIT Patna is impressive, with modern classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, and a full-function library. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled, and students have access to various facilities such as football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, etc. IIT Patna digital library is equipped with the modern technology of a library automation system with an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) and a self-check-in and shelf-check-out (Drop Box) system using RFID technology. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna is launching six unique academic programmes that would not require the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) score. Interested candidates will be able to apply for these programmes at the official website of IIT Patna: iitp.ac.in. There are multiple channels for entry to these new programmes of study, such as a valid score on the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main), Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG 2022), SAT (US), National Talent Search Exam (NTSE), Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), INSPIRE, state-level entrance, and IITP-SAT. The new programmes being launched are BSc (Hons) Computer Science and Data Analytics (CSDA), BSc (Hons) Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity (AICS), BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Computer Science (MCS), BSc (Hons) Accounting and Financial Management (AFM), BSc (Hons) in Business Management and Analytics (BMA), and Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA).

IIT Patna has been awarded a rank of 19 by NIRF, and NIT Patna is ranked 53 by NIRF in the 'Engineering' category for the year 2025. As per the latest placement data available, IIT Patna's average BTech package offered to the students is INR 23.90 LPA, and NIT Patna offers an average package of INR 13.30 LPA. IIT Patna campus has various facilities for its students and people who are part of the system, which is spread over 501 acres. IIT Patna's infrastructure includes the following amenities that help in the overall development of students: hostels, a sports complex, a sophisticated analytical instrument facility (SAIF), a medical unit, and many more. NIT Patna functions on a 40-acre campus. The college provides various facilities, which include a computer centre, IT Service Unit, Central Library, Medical Facilities, Sports Facilities, SAC, Laboratories, Banking, Security, Women's Cell, etc.
