Knowledge is greater.
It's doesn' matter that whether u r an IITian or non IITian.your strong knowledge matters.
In comparison of IITs and NITs .
IIT is best.but some top NITs are also great.
In my view both r best.

It will depend on your rank. If you can make to top 10000 list you may able to get admission in one of the IIT. Institute location and branch will depend on your rank.
