IPMAT exam is conducted for students after Class 12 who are seeking admission to the five year integrated programme in management, whereas CAT is conducted for graduates aiming for the MBA programme at various B-schools in the country including IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, etc.

Students who wish to start early and wish to enter IIMs right after Class 12, IPMAT can be a good choice. And, CAT is ideal for those looking to gain work or academic experience before pursuing management studies. Hence, to know which exam is better, the answer lies on the student's career stage and goals.

Yes, with smart preparation and dedicated effort, you can pass the IPMAT in two months. Pay particular attention to the crucial areas of Verbal Ability (VA) and Quantitative Ability (QA). Enhance reading skills for VA, reinforce fundamental math concepts, and practice mock tests every day. If you are prepared to put in consistent effort, you should attempt IPMAT this year. Even if you fail, you will still have experience for when you try again.

Yes, but one can clear the IPM entrance exam right after the boards. It usually takes 2 to 2.5 months for preparation once the board results are out, if done effectively. The whole process of entrance examination is segregated into sections- quantitative ability, logical reasoning, verbal ability, and general knowledge.

Yes, JEE Mains preparation can be helpful for IPMAT (Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test). Both exams focus on testing aptitude in areas like:

  1. Quantitative Ability: JEE Mains covers mathematics, and IPMAT also has a math section, making your preparation for numerical problem-solving transferable.

  2. Logical Reasoning: JEE includes questions on logical reasoning and problem-solving, which align with the reasoning section of IPMAT.

However, IPMAT also includes a verbal ability section, which is not a significant part of JEE Mains. So, while your quantitative and logical reasoning preparation will be helpful, you should focus additio

It is possible for a Plus 2 student who has not studied mathematics to apply for IPMAT. The eligibility criteria for the Integrated Program in Management (IPM) at IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak, which conduct the IPMAT, do not mandate mathematics in the 12th grade. To be eligible, candidates should have scored a minimum of 60% in their 10th and 12th-grade exams or an equivalent qualification, with some variations for specific categories such as SC/ST/PwD.
