There are separate books available for different topics in IIT JAM. So, buying these books separately for each topic is not a good idea. I would suggest you to take help from study materials which covers the syllabus for all the topics in a single book. So, you don't have to carry 1015 books with you. IIT JAM is an entrance exam conducted to get admitted in IITs, NITs, or IISc to pursue M.Sc. (Four Semesters), Joint M.Sc. Ph.D. M.Sc. -M.Tech. M.Sc. Ph.D. Dual Degree & other courses. IIT JAM exam is conducted in seven subjects and candidates can give the exam for maximum of two subjects. But the subjects the candidate chooses must not be conducted in the same session. No, there are no subjective questions are asked in the IIT JAM Exam. As per the IIT JAM Exam Pattern, the exam is conducted through complete online mode. There are 3 types of questions which are asked in the exam which are:
MCQ (Mulitple Choice Questions)
MSQ (Multiple Select Questions)
NAT (Numerical Answer Type)

Difference between IIT JAM and GATE:
GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an all India entrance exam which allows candidates to apply for IITs, NITs, IISc, and a few other applied sciences institutes/universities.
