JEE Main is one of the toughest competitive exams. If you are planning to prepare for this or any other competitive examination without having any coaching, you need to take care of certain things for sure. IN the very beginning, I would like to share that according to a study, in the year 2013, there were only 52% students who had cleared JEE Mains/Advanced, had not got any type of formal coaching. Study thoroughly your class 11th and 12th books and that's enough for you. Mainly if you are good at basics everything is fine but if basics are not clear then nothing is going on your way. You could study from your NCERT book along with some references and after finishing the course you can go through YouTube videos where you can get an idea about the shortcuts of doing various sums and numericals for saving time. Also, there are some techniques to solve certain numerical problems in a short span of time. Like this, if you give dedication nobody can stop you from cracking JEE. It's not even that tough.
Good luck.

It is free to download and you can get solutions to your doubts from experts as I have worked as an expert for 5 months in Gradeup. It is free of cost to ask queries, but it is not free to get materials and watch tutorial videos. There is some amount you have to pay per month in order to access all the materials and quizzes.
