You need above 160 marks for new NITs and above 190 for older NITs.

Study all NCERT books conceptually. Don't prefer standard books if you have less time.

Don't lose hope and start revision from today onwards from NCERT books and previous years' question papers.

You should give your best to clear the cut off according to your category. You should try to get at least above 150 marks.

You can consider:
1. IIT – Kharagpur.
2. NIT – Jalandhar.
3. NIT - Hamirpur.

The best private colleges conducts their own entrance exam for admission, but there are still many colleges, where you try through JEE Mains. If you have good marks, then they will provide you scholarship.

There is a wide difference in AIR's of students admitted in AIT for different streams. But then, AIR calculation method has changed from this year onwards. Also, all the seats are reserved only for the wards of serving or retired Army personnel.

Manipal University conducts their own entrance exam MUOET. If you want to be a part of Manipal University, so you need to qualify that exam.

With 62 marks and 89% marks in JEE, your JEE rank would be low. I got 117 in JEE(115, being the cut-off), and 89.8%(ISC Board) and got CSE in JIIT-128.

From this year onwards method of deciding AIR has undergone change. Marks obtained in 12th will not be considered for AIR. Hence, not only marks obtained in JEE Mains but how many students have scored more or less than you only will decide your AIR. However, I am sure after the exam is over there will be few sites which will have some software to do guesswork. Till then I suggest do not think over it but concentrate on your studies.
