The low ranked NITs are Meghalaya, Arunachal, Mizoram and Hamirpur, Where cutoff ranks goes above 300000. Hence keeping the safe side you have to score above 80 percentile in JEE Mains for admission in NITs.

There is no such minimum marks but yes, you may have to secure at least 94 percentile in JEE Mains to stay on the safer side of getting selected.

The cutoff rank for NIT Silchar in year 2019 was 12823 for general category under other state quota. Hence you have to score above 98 percentile in JEE Mains.
