Hi Juhi,
You can prepare for SAT and JEE together. Math asked in SAT is far easier than that in JEE.
But since there is no English related section in JEE, you will have to put in great efforts to prepare for SAT English/Verbal section.
Be aware that most students from India face troubles in SAT Verbal. Indian students perform pretty well in SAT math when compared to students from other countries (except China).

If your son is in 9th grade now, it will be good if he joins IIT Foundation programme from any leading Test prep organisation in this year. And he should start appearing in various olympiad exams, so that he will how is he performing compared to others in his school, town, across country, etc.
He will clearly know the difference between answering the board exam and competitive exam.

if you have control over yourself to stay focused in the drop year for JEE Mains preparation, then go for it. otherwise, take admission.

Do u know CHINA batch, combined of narayana and chaitanya ? Its best but admission very difficult
