Its not "sandwiching", you just need to plan properly. You may continue to prepare for your IIT coaching and SAT too. SAT training is normally for 32-40 sessions which you can easily cover in summer vacation and then its more of a practice. Once you are ready take the SAT and TOEFL test. If the need be appear again.
Simultaneously, you may explore the universities to which you can apply. For US, commonapp is the best. Once your semester exams are done, get your transcripts, LORs and essay ready to upload on the commonapp.

Jee mains has already been conducted. The Offline exam was held on April 3, while, the Online exam was held on April 9 and 10, 2016 respectively. For JEE Advanced, kindly refer the below link :
